Heritage

More than fifty years of innovation. More than fifty countries. One conviction that has never required revision: the technology integrated into contemporary spaces deserves the same design intelligence as the spaces themselves.

ASA Plastici S.r.l. built this principle into the company’s foundations, and it remains today the measure against which every product is developed.

1970 – The foundation

ASA Plastici S.r.l.’s industrial origins date to 1966, when the business began as a thermoplastic mould-making and an OEM supplier. The defining chapter opened in 1975, when Giovanni Crucitti and Marisa Martinelli established ASA Plastici S.r.l. and gave the enterprise a broader entrepreneurial direction.

The founders built the company without significant financial resources, relying on determination, practical intelligence and an uncompromising commitment to quality. A chance encounter with a simple plastic furniture adjuster, discovered in a rented warehouse, redirected the business entirely. ASA Plastici S.r.l. developed its first proprietary mould, entered the office-furniture sector and made the decisive transition from an OEM supplier to an own-brand manufacturer.

From the outset, the company operated on the conviction that no component is too minor to be executed with precision. That conviction became the foundation of a manufacturing culture whose influence is still evident in everything ASA Plastici S.r.l. produces today.

1980 – From production to product innovation

During the 1980s, ASA Plastici S.r.l. expanded beyond moulding and began developing its own functional solutions — a shift that would define the company’s future.

The decade’s most significant product was the Cassettiera Dattilo, a desk drawer unit that presented an early test of the company’s engineering character. The machinery available at the time could not support production of the entire structure from a single mould. ASA Plastici S.r.l. therefore engineered an interlocking system of separately produced components. Once assembled, the result was more rigid and more durable than a conventional approach would have achieved.

The commercial success of the Cassettiera Dattilo generated resources for further investment and confirmed ASA Plastici S.r.l.’s ability to create value through technical problem-solving rather than compromise. In the same period, the extractable keyboard tray addressed the ergonomic demands of computer-based work, while the company’s early cable-management solutions anticipated requirements that would become standard across the sector within a decade.

1990 – Workspaces, redefined

The 1990s transformed the modern office at a fundamental level. Computers, telecommunications and digital technologies entered workplaces on an unprecedented scale, rendering the desk no longer a simple work surface but an operational hub requiring integrated access to power, communication and data.

ASA Plastici S.r.l. recognised this shift early and expanded its product range accordingly, developing monitor arms, cable-management solutions and desk electrification accessories that addressed the growing complexity of the professional workstation. The underlying design philosophy was clear: technology should not be imposed onto furniture but embedded within it, invisibly and without compromise to form.

The decade also marked the beginning of ASA Plastici S.r.l.’s international expansion. Entering European and global markets during this period, the company established the export foundations that would eventually represent the majority of its total turnover.

2000 – Technology enters everyday environments

The new millennium brought digital technology into every category of space — offices, kitchens, meeting rooms, hospitality environments and public areas each developing new requirements for power access, integration and safety. At the same time, ASA Plastici S.r.l. underwent its first generational transition, with Rodolfo Crucitti and Cristina Tesser assuming leadership from the founders and reorienting the company’s ambitions for the decade ahead.

Under their direction, ASA Plastici S.r.l. evolved from passive electrification solutions that had defined much of the previous decade, to active electrification: professional sockets and power-distribution units. Transition demanded new expertise in electrical certification, product testing and technical traceability, and it established electrification as the company’s strategic core. By 2007, the category represented almost 20% of total turnover.

The financial crisis of 2008 placed severe pressure on the office furniture market, particularly in Italy. ASA Plastici S.r.l. responded not by contracting but by investing in innovation, quality, brand development and international positioning. Under the direction of Cristina Tesser, the company renewed its identity and strengthened its resolve to compete simultaneously on design, performance and global relevance.

2010 – A new generation, a new ambition

In 2011, ASA Plastici S.r.l. entered a new phase of development. The company adopted a strategy centred on versatility and tailored solutions, working more closely with furniture manufacturers, architects and designers to meet the requirements of complex projects and specialised applications. That same year, Riccardo and Giorgio Crucitti joined the business, assuming responsibility for product development and corporate strategy and securing the continuity of the company’s entrepreneurial direction.

This strategic evolution was reflected in the product range. The transition from plastic to aluminium profiles expanded both the technical and aesthetic potential of the company’s offer, enabling greater precision, refinement and integration within furniture systems.

From 2013 onwards, ASA Plastici S.r.l. focused increasingly on integrated electrification. The VersaLogic Smart and VersaLogic Modular families established a flexible product architecture for multifunctional interiors, combining technical performance, customisation and visual coherence. The introduction of VersaHit extended this approach to kitchen environments, demonstrating the company’s ability to apply its expertise beyond the traditional office sector.

As the product range advanced, the company strengthened the systems supporting its development and production. ISO 9001 certification formalised its commitment to quality management, traceability and continuous improvement, while dedicated marketing efforts and more consistent brand communication reinforced the international brand positioning and perception.

Between 2016 and 2021, the company sustained consistent double-digit annual growth — the measurable consequence of a decade in which engineering discipline and design ambition had been developed in equal measure.

2020 – Spaces without boundaries

The new decade accelerated a transformation already underway in contemporary interiors. As home, workplace and shared environments became increasingly fluid, ASA Plastici S.r.l. responded with solutions designed to combine connectivity, flexibility and visual coherence.

This evolution was reflected in VersaQ, a compact electrification unit that integrated essential connectivity into a minimal form. In 2020, VersaQ received the Red Dot Design Award, confirming the company’s ability to combine technical performance with design quality.

Over the same period, ASA Plastici S.r.l. expanded its portfolio with floor-box distribution systems, integrated power points and cable-management solutions. The creation of a dedicated division for electrical distribution and installation further strengthened its ability to support complex project requirements.

As the product range evolved, so did the company’s scale and structure. ASA Plastici S.r.l. developed into a structured industrial enterprise with more than 60 employees, nearly 15,000 square metres of operational space and a presence across five continents.

In 2024, ASA Plastici S.r.l. acquired REXITE, bringing together two Italian manufacturers united by a shared belief in the value of industrial rigour and design culture.

The acquisition also marked a broader strategic shift in how the two brands were positioned and presented to the market. By aligning brand strategies, strengthening marketing investment and expanding their digital and physical touchpoints, ASA Plastici S.r.l. and REXITE increased the visibility, consistency and reach of their distinct but complementary offers.

Today & Tomorrow – Vision

Today, ASA Plastici S.r.l. delivers solutions for some of the world’s most demanding projects, from flagship hospitality developments and high-end residential interiors to landmark offices, educational campuses and public spaces. Active in more than 50 countries, the company generates approximately 60% of its turnover through international markets.

Behind these figures lies something far more enduring: a company built over generations through discipline, courage and an uncompromising belief that every detail matters. What began with skilled hands and determined minds has grown into an international reality.

For ASA Plastici S.r.l., heritage is not a legacy to preserve, but the experience that gives confidence to innovate, the knowledge that makes transformation possible and the values that ensure progress.

Today, that same spirit is shaping a new chapter, one defined by smarter technologies, more responsible production, reduced environmental impact and solutions designed for the evolving ways people will live and work. It is also a chapter shaped by people: by the talent, commitment and diverse perspectives that bring the company to life every day, and by the growing conviction that opportunity, inclusion and stronger equal representation are essential to building a better future.

Under the leadership of Riccardo and Giorgio, ASA Plastici S.r.l. looks to the future with the confidence earned through generations of achievement, and the determination to keep raising the standard. Its ambition reaches beyond growth. It is to shape lasting progress: advancing innovation, setting a more responsible course for the industry and carrying the strength of Made in Italy excellence capable of inspiring the generations that follow.
